Motorheads, the new coming-of-age drama from the writer behind One Tree Hill, is now available to stream on Prime Video.
Created and written John A Norris, known for his work on hit teen drama One Tree Hill, All American and Deception, the new 10-part series explores "first love, first heartbreak, and the thrill of starting your first car".
The official synopsis reads: "Set in a once-thriving rust-belt town that’s now searching for a glimmer of hope, the series is an adrenaline-filled story of a group of outsiders who form an unlikely friendship over a mutual love of street racing, while navigating the hierarchy and rules of high school."
Cast members include I Know What You Did Last Summer and Cruel Intentions star Ryan Phillippe, Mia Healey (The Wilds), Melissa Collazo (One of Us Is Lying), Michael Cimino (Love, Victor) and Nathalie Kelley (Dynasty).
Reviews have started rolling in following the show's release on Prime Video today, and while the consensus seems to be that it doesn't break any new ground, critics are noting that it delivers the kind of easy, escapist drama fans have come to enjoy from this genre.

"It’s just sturdy, reliable entertainment — well worth putting down your phone for and taking for a proper spin," said The Hollywood Reporter.
"Except for the cars sprinkled on top, it’s old stuff, not very deep, but produced with an engaging naturalism that rounds off the narrative extremes, enhances what’s commonplace and makes Motorheads easy to watch," wrote LA Times.
Variety's review is slightly less favourable, however, saying that Motorheads "loses itself because it tries to do too much".
"As a result, scenes don’t always feel congruent, plot points are predictable and viewers are left with more questions than answers by the time the final scene ends," they added.

Speaking to ScreenRant about Motorheads, Ryan Phillippe hailed it as "an incredibly bingeable series."
He also said that "every episode ends with a cliffhanger", adding: "It leads you right into the next one, so I hope that people are just going to watch this thing all in one go."
