Star Wars' Daisy Ridley is following up her real-life role in last year's Young Woman and the Sea with another drama based on a true story, playing NHS nurse turned MMA fighter Bryony Tyrell in the film Killa Bee.
Deadline has reported that the actor has signed up the play the mother of two, who has master's degrees in both molecular biology and nursing, who worked in an intensive care unit during the day times.
While studying, Tyrell took up kickboxing. She kept it up in evenings as she embarked on her career, later moving into martial arts after reaching black belt.
Tyrell competed in multiple competitions and eventually became one of Britain's leading MMA fighters. The film is being made with her involvement.
"Bryony's story is one of extraordinary courage and resilience," Ridley said. "I was deeply moved by her emotional and empowering journey. I can't wait to bring her spirit to the screen."

Kenton Oxley, who previously helmed the film Farah, serves as director, while Ruth Sewell has written the script.
On her website, Sewell gives us a little more detail about the plot, stating that it features Tyrell "battling her way through a mental health crisis".
"Bryony Tyrell has been involved in the project with Kenton Oxley since the beginning and is supportive of her inspirational story being brought to the screen," the producers stated. "She is actively consulting on the project.
"The scripting process has been shaped in close dialogue with Bryony's family, ensuring emotional truth and creative integrity at every turn. Director Kenton, a longtime friend of Bryony's since their school days, brings a deeply personal lens to the story—one rooted in trust, history, and fierce creative loyalty."
