The Revenge Club, the "wickedly fun" British thriller starring Martin Compston and Douglas Henshall, has unveiled its twisty trailer. With a stacked cast and a drama-filled plot, this one could be hugely popular upon its release.
The upcoming series, which is based on JD Pennington's novel The Othello Club, sees Compston portray Calum, a figure who joins a support group following a divorce. Once there, he meets some like-minded people, and they vow to enact revenge on their exes.
Scheduled to stream on Paramount+ from Friday (12 December), the streamer has unveiled an energetic new trailer, with the vengeful plan from the central characters quickly evolving from small-scale to criminal.
Billed as a "wickedly fun revenge thriller", the cast for the six-part series also includes Aimée-Ffion Edwards, Meera Syal, Sharon Rooney, Niamh Walsh, Amit Shah and Chaneil Kular, while Gabbie Asher serves as creator.
As per the logline, the "darkly comic" series follows "six lonely, hapless strangers [as they are] brought together by a divorce support group, each reeling from betrayal and heartbreak". From there, they form an "unlikely bond" via their "emotional baggage".

"[They] come up with a wildly misguided idea: to take revenge on the people who broke their hearts. What starts as a cathartic outlet quickly spirals into something far more chaotic, as their retribution escalates."
The escapades range from "petty pranks" involving exam papers and cons to "deadly accidents", with "the line between justice and chaos" beginning to blur as the group's plans become bolder; will somebody take things too far?
The Revenge Club, which also features Christina Bennington and Wil Coban in supporting roles, is said to ask the daring question of: "what if getting even felt better than falling in love?"
