NETFLIX RELEASES FIRST LOOK AT MYTHIC NEW DRAMA FEATURING JEFF GOLDBLUM AND OZARK FAVE

Jeff Goldblum, known for his roles in Jurassic Park and Independence Day, is set to star as the Greek god Zeus in an exciting new drama coming to Netflix this summer. The streaming giant has given us a tantalising first glimpse of the series, KAOS, which promises to bring Greek myths to life like never before.

With an all-star cast, you won't want to miss it when it lands on the platform this August. Alongside Jeff, the series features several other big names, including Janet McTeer, recognised from another Netflix hit, Ozark, who will be playing the queen of the gods and Zeus's wife/sister (a true fact from Greek mythology).

British actor Nabhaan Rizwan, known for his roles in 1917 and HBO Max's Station Eleven, will portray Dionysus, Zeus's favourite son.

The main cast is completed by Aurora Perrineau and Killian Scott, who will play Riddy and Orpheus in a modern retelling of the tragic Orpheus and Eurydice legend.

The synopsis for the series reads: "Jeff Goldblum plays Zeus: King of the gods, ruler of the world. He's cruel, stylish and all-powerful."

"That is, until he's not. From BAFTA-winning screenwriter and showrunner Charlie Covell (The End Of The F***ing World), KAOS is a bold, darkly comic, contemporary take on Greek mythology: exploring love, power, and life in the underworld.

"Having long enjoyed his status as King of the gods, Zeus' reign has never been truly threatened. That is until he wakes up one morning and discovers a wrinkle on his forehead.

"Believing it to be the harbinger of an ancient prophecy which foretells his destruction, neurosis sets in: Zeus becomes convinced his fall is coming. As his paranoia takes hold, the god of gods - seeing signs everywhere - starts to dangerously self-destruct.

"And he's right to be worried. Zeus' one time friend and now prisoner, Prometheus, is orchestrating a plan to bring him down.

"The plan involves three disparate humans, all of whom are totally unaware of their cosmic significance or the part they must play in saving the world. No pressure. (Some pressure.)".

The cast also includes Cliff Curtis as Poseidon, David Thewlis as Hades, Debi Mazar as the iconic monster Medusa, Leila Farzad, Rakie Ayola, Billie Piper and Eddie Izzard.

KAOS premieres August 29 on Netflix.
