NETFLIX'S NEW POLITICAL THRILLER WITH STACKED HOLLYWOOD CAST CONFIRMS RELEASE DATE

The star power is real in Kathryn Bigelow's upcoming movie for Netflix, a political thriller with an ensemble as stacked as they come.

The just-announced A House of Dynamite is a political thriller hinging on a single, unattributed missile launched at the United States. After the launch, a race begins to find out who is giving orders on the other side, and how to respond.

The film is expected to kick off with a cinema release in October, then lands on Netflix on 24 October.

While plot details are scarce, it seems that A House of Dynamite will see a group of White House officials led by Luther star Idris Elba and Dune's Rebecca Ferguson try to deal with the national crisis caused by the missile.

Not much else is known about the script, written by Noah Oppenheim, who also co-produces with Bigelow and Greg Shapiro.

Bigelow made history in 2009 becoming the first woman to win the Oscar for Best Director for her war drama The Hurt Locker, released the previous year.

A House of Dynamite will mark her return in the director's chair after her 2017's historical drama Detroit, starring John Boyega, Will Poulter, Algee Smith, Jason Mitchell, John Krasinski, and Anthony Mackie.

A House of Dynamite releases in cinemas in October, followed by a Netflix release from 24 October.
