Growing up with your favorite Disney movies is one thing, but to see them grow off the charts with one dazzling line-up after another is another. Zootopia, however, is more than happy to deliver.
Zootopia 2’s director, Jared Bush, recently engaged fans in an impromptu Q&A session on X. Upon one enthusiast’s question of the director’s dream casting, the spectators received a tease that was more than just a surprise.
The Walt Disney chief creative officer responded with Keanu Reeves for an answer.
“My son has begged me to ask Keanu Reeves to play an assassin named ‘The Baba Llama,'” he posted back. He revealed how his passion for John Wick fell right in line with his son’s requests.
This clever nod, in fact, perfectly blends the two franchises. Reeve’s potential assassin character pits Zootopia’s carrot-chomping hero against John Wick’s piercing precision.
Zootopia 2 did not just break the bank—it smashed it as it hit a billion faster than any kid-safe flick in history.
Jared Bush’s question and answer session stemmed from a celebration, nonetheless. The occasion had been Zootopia 2 crossing the worldwide 1 billion gross mark, shattering records as the fastest-earning PG-rated movie.
This sequel had, in fact, pocketed that sum in just 17 days. To add to the star power, Zootopia 2 also followed and surpassed its predecessor’s success.
Jared Bush’s aim for the fusion of family fun and fierce action could redefine sequels. Zootopia’s evolution so far has proven its mastery in surprise, and Zootopia 3 might just deliver the ultimate crossover thrill as well.
