Mighty Hoopla is coming back with a bang as it announced a star-studded line-up to return to Brockwell Park next year. The two-day festival has grown steadily to become one of London's most cherished outdoor summer parties as well as a staple on the LGBTQ calendar.
Next year's line-up on Saturday, May 30, will be headlined by Lily Allen who will give a UK festival exclusive performance of West End Girl in full. She will be supported by other stars on the roster such as Jessie J, Todrick Hall, JLS, Horse Meat Disco, Agnes, Say Now and Tulisa
The following day, Sunday, May 31, will see Scissor Sisters topping the bill, with other acts Perrie, Five, Alexandra Burke, Louise Redknapp, Trixie Mattel, Estelle, Kiesza, Mykki Blanco and The Wanted 2.0. Tickets will be on sale 10am on Tuesday, November 11. Full weekend, Saturday & Sunday tickets will be available including general admission, Groupla, pre-2pm and pre-1pm entry options.
Lily Allen was one of the first to comment on Mighty Hoopla's announcement on Instagram, as she wrote: "WE ARE GOING TO HAVE SO MUCH F****** FUNNNNNNN."
Alexandra Burke wrote, "CAN NOT WAIT HUNS," while Todrick Hall added: "AGHGHFHGHJHHH This is honestly a dream come true! This is THE most iconic queer festival and I’m honoured to be a part of the line-up. I’m pulling out all the stops for this one. Let’s GOOOOO!"
Dannii Minogue posted that it was a "dream line-up" while Louise Redknapp messaged: "Excited! See you there."
Tickets can be secured with a £20 deposit per ticket or a monthly payment plan, with the remaining balance not due until March 2 next year.
It follows a tumultuous summer for the events organisers, Brockwell Live, who stage a series of six summer festivals in Brockwell Park in May and June of each year, including Wide Awake, Field Day and Cross The Tracks, although Mighty Hoopla is the most high profile of these. Campaign group Protect Brockwell Park secured a High Court ruling over its certificate in May, which threw this year's event into doubt.
Brockwell Live later stated that the High Court ruling "dealt with a particular point of law" and that "no event will be cancelled as a result of the High Court’s decision". It submitted an urgent planning application to Lambeth Council days before Mighty Hoopla successfully went ahead on Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1.
Mighty Hoopla takes place on Saturday, May 30, and Sunday, May 31. For any ticket enquiries, email [email protected], and for general enquiries, contact [email protected]
