"MASTERPIECE" MUSICAL FILM WITH ZENDAYA AND "SUPERB" HIT SONGS FINDS NEW UK STREAMING HOME

Musical "masterpiece" The Greatest Showman is now available to stream on Netflix in the UK. The 2017 movie tells the story of real-life entrepreneur P.T. Barnum as he strives to create a successful circus, filled with eclectic performers from all walks of life.

Ambitious Barnum struggles to support his family with his risky new venture, and enlists the help of wealthy playwright Phillip Carlyle to promote his show to the masses.

But could his newfound showbiz success jeopardise his relationship with his loved ones - including his found family, the performers?

Set in the 19th century, The Greatest Showman boasts a star-studded cast led by Hugh Jackman as P.T. Barnum, and Zac Efron who plays his on-screen business partner Phillip.

Spider-Man's Zendaya features as trapeze artist Anne Wheeler, Phillip's controversial love interest, while Wicked's Keala Settle plays bearded lady Lettie Lutz.

The cast also includes Michelle Williams, Rebecca Ferguson, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Sam Humphrey and Natasha Liu Bordizzo.

Though the movie is based on a real-life historical figure, the story is mainly fictitious and features a range of "superb" songs and performances to punctuate key events.

"[Director] Michael Gracey skillfully brought together the best music, choreography, cast, cinematography, visual effects, costumes, and set decoration I have seen in recent years, all fresh and original, and integrated them into nothing short of a masterpiece," read one IMDB review.

"The mid piece/song 'This is me' is so good .. excellent! Superb! Any other great word you can think of. I had goosebumps listening to it," said another.

A third added: "Everything about this film had perfect timing. Editing was seamless. Attention to detail was mind blowing, costumes outstanding. Special effects... whoa. Acting was flawless. I really can't find anything to criticize."

The Greatest Showman is available to stream on Netflix in the UK.
