MEGHAN MARKLE AND PRINCE HARRY'S 'EXPLOSIVE' EVENT WAS 'ONE-TIME' OCCURRENCE

They have since given a string of interviews following their relocation to the US, making allegations against the royals. And in addition to their docuseries on Netflix, the Duke released an explosive memoir, Spare, two years ago.

More recently, the Duchess has released her Netflix series With Love, Meghan. The second installment being released on the streaming platform in August. Edward Coram-James, co-founder of GoUp, has since shared his thoughts on the Sussexes' success and suggested their first hit series - watched in over 28million households - can not be repeated.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, he shared, "The success of the Harry & Meghan doc was built on a finite resource: the public's insatiable curiosity about their decision to leave the royal family and the drama surrounding it.

It was a one-time, explosive event."

The PR expert claimed that Harry and Meghan's tell all about life within the royal family is all the public really wants to know.

He added, "They pulled back the curtain on the monarchy, and that is a story you can only tell once."

The couple's other projects with the streaming platform have not seen widespread success including Harry's Polo docuseries. With Love, Meghan had at least 500,000 fewer viewers in its first week on Netflix than its first season earned in the same time.

Despite this minor setback, her cooking series has been renewed for a third season.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have since signed a fresh multi-year film and television deal with Netflix whereby the streamer has the first option on any projects their company, Archewell Productions, generates.
