ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING SEASON 5 CASTS A TWO-TIME OSCAR WINNER
Two-time Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz has joined the cast for the fifth season of Only Murders in the Building.
The actor, who triumphed for his performances in Inglorious Basterds and Django Unchained, will join Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez for the latest season of Hulu’s comedy crime-mystery (via Variety), which focuses on a trio of podcasters and amateur sleuths.
Naturally, plot and specific character details have been kept under wraps, with Waltz being the latest big-name addition to the cast following Keegan-Michael Key. Other stars to have appeared in the show in guest roles include Meryl Streep, Paul Rudd and Melissa McCarthy.

In addition to his Oscar-winning roles in Quentin Tarantino’s films, Waltz has also appeared as the villainous Ernst Stavro Blofeld in the James Bond series, with his upcoming projects including Frankenstein and Dracula: A Love Tale.
Only Murders, which was created by Martin and John Hoffman, was renewed for a fifth season back in September, with the show receiving critical acclaim throughout its run as it stacked up a host of Emmy nominations.
The fourth season, which saw Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria and Zach Galifianakis all play fictionalised versions of themselves, followed Charles-Haden (Martin), Oliver (Short) and Mabel (Gomez) as they initially swapped New York City for Los Angeles.
“In season four of Only Murders in the Building, our amateur podcasting trio wrestles with the shocking events at the end of season three surrounding Charles’ stunt double & friend Sazz Pataki,” reads the logline (via Disney).

“Questioning whether she or Charles was the intended victim, their investigation leads them all the way to Los Angeles where a Hollywood studio is readying a film about the Only Murders podcast.
“As Charles, Oliver & Mabel race back to New York, they embark on an even more epic journey - traversing their building’s courtyard to delve into the twisted lives of the Arconia’s West Tower residents.”
