BBC viewers can now indulge in a 'riveting and explosive masterpiece' series, based on a much-loved franchise.
The first season of Twisted Metal, a live-action adaptation of the iconic PlayStation game originally launched in 1995, is now ready to stream for free on iPlayer.
In the game, players commandeered a variety of vehicles participating in demolition derby-style combat competitions.
The original title led to three sequels, two spin-offs and two reboots, with the most recent game released in 2012 on the PlayStation 3.
Fans continue to hope for its return on contemporary platforms.

According to the TV adaptation's synopsis, the series is a high-octane action comedy revolving around a fast-talking outsider known as a milkman who is given an opportunity for a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland, reports the Mirror.
With the assistance of an axe-wielding car thief, he'll confront savage marauders driving destructive vehicles and other perils of the open road, including a deranged clown behind the wheel of a familiar ice cream truck.
The cast features Marvel star Anthony Mackie as John Doe, the milkman, a term used for someone who makes deliveries between surviving cities in this post-apocalyptic world. He is joined by Brooklyn Nine Nine actress Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church and Neve Campbell.
Will Arnett lends his voice to the menacing Sweet Tooth. Professional wrestler Samoa Joe delivers the physical portrayal of the fearsome villain.
Two series of the programme have now been created, both available for streaming on Paramount Plus, which can also be accessed as an additional service through Prime Video.
Nevertheless, episodes from the debut series are now accessible without charge on BBC iPlayer.
Whilst the second series has garnered more favourable reviews from critics, the programme maintains an overall rating of 79% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Numerous enthusiasts have expressed their views online, with those who cherished the original games expressing their endorsement.
