AIMEE LOU WOOD’S PERFECT BBC SITCOM WITH “GLORIOUS” BRITISH CAST UNVEILS HEARTWARMING SEASON 2 TRAILER

Aimee Lou Wood's perfect-rated BBC sitcom Daddy Issues has unveiled its season 2 trailer. The series is due to return soon, as the star's character Gemma faces life with a baby.

Debuting last year, the series focuses on a pregnant woman who ends up in a flatshare with her dad, the first season ending with Gemma giving birth to daughter Sadie.

In the brief teaser, the character admits there is a "fire inside" her now as she tries to provide a better life for her newborn. However, plenty of chaos ensues, including from dad Malcolm (David Morrissey).

Also starring Miranda's Sarah Hadland, My Mad Fat Diary's Sharon Rooney, Line of Duty's Taj Atwal and Hollyoaks' Sherrie Hewson, Daddy Issues was confirmed for a second season not long after its premiere in 2024.

"Daddy Issues is the most fun I've had on a job and I can't wait to do it again!" Wood said at the time.

"I'm so excited to see what [creator] Danielle [Ward] has cooking for Malcolm, Gemma, Sadie and the gang. I just know it's going to be hilarious and heart melting."

Creator Ward added: "A second series? And I've found out by reading this press release? Unbelievable. I'm thrilled to be writing for Aimee and David (and the rest of this fabulous cast) again. I love the Moscrips and can't wait to crack on with their continuing adventures. Sure, a bit of a break."

The comedy earned a 100% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes, with The Times praising its "glorious cast and cracking one-liners".

"Thanks to its winning central duo, Daddy Issues feels like a warm hug of a show, but with just enough edge to keep you on your toes," wrote The Independent, while The Guardian called it "daft, honest, funny and tinged with bleakness".

The London Evening Standard added: "Daddy Issues is a sharp, sweet and incessantly witty take on parenthood, female friendships and mid-life crises."

Daddy Issues will return soon on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer. Season 1 is streaming now on BBC iPlayer.
