CELEBRITY TRAITORS WINNER ALAN CARR'S HIDDEN GEM 'BINGE WORTHY' SERIES STREAMING ON ITV NOW

Alan Carr has been crowned champion of Celebrity Traitors as the emotional star burst into tears on learning of his victory.

The former Chatty Man host admitted he had only signed up to the hit BBC show for a "bit of a giggle" and was thrilled with his win.

Alan said: "What a rollercoaster, how did this happen? I was awful at lying and had a terrible poker face and here I am, the winner."

Fans of the comedian will be missing him on their TV screens but fear not, they can get their fix as all episodes of his hidden gem comedy, Changing Ends, are streaming for free on ITV X now.

The hidden gem of a comedy, described as 'binge-worthy', returned for its third season on ITV this autumn.

Changing Ends emerged as the most successful new half-hour comedy launch in 2023 and has been streamed over 14 million times on ITVX.

The semi-autobiographical series, set in Northampton during the 1980s, is brimming with stories from the comedian's own upbringing.

The third series of Changing Ends is set in the summer of 1989, capturing Alan's teenage years. He grapples with fresh challenges as he tries to find his footing in the world and "gets particularly hot under the collar around his new crush Jake".

Meanwhile, Alan's father, portrayed by Shaun Dooley, is under strain at his job managing a fourth division football club while his son tackles the "thankless task" of navigating through the "adolescent minefields that are sleepovers, swimming lessons and nights out with the boys and the girls", reports the Express.

In anticipation of the new season, ITV teases: "It's not all doom and gloom, though, as some unexpected allies give Alan a much-needed glimpse of a hopeful future and they're not a million miles away from his own doorstep."

The BAFTA-nominated series has earned a stellar 7.9 star rating on IMDb, with one fan saying: "Overall, this show is sweet, interesting, nostalgic, and full of known British actors. Binge-worthy, and definitely the best series I've watched this year. Can't wait to see more! Do yourself a favour, and watch it! It won't disappoint."

Another viewer dubbed it a "hidden gem", adding: "Initially watched this for some real 80s' nostalgia and this didn't disappoint. This soon became secondary to the absolutely phenomenal acting. This was a binge watch from the start. A hilarious and sometimes sad story."

A third said: "Just a very funny, sincere, very well-acted comedy. For Brits of a certain age, the 80s' references and nostalgia are spot on, much of it too obscure I'm sure for those not there at the time to appreciate fully."

Changing Ends is the brainchild of Alan Carr and Gabby Best, co-created by the late Simon Carlyle. The cast includes Alan himself, Oliver Savell (playing young Alan), Nancy Sullivan, Taylor Fay, Gabby Best, Harry Peacock, Rourke Mooney, Colin Salmon, and Dotty Davies.
