Doctor Who is in for a big transmission change in time for its season 2 finale.
The latest season, starring Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor and Varada Sethu as Belinda Chandra, is gearing up for its final episode, which is set to premiere simultaneously on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK on 31 May in a primetime evening slot.
Outside of the UK, the season finale will air on Disney+, with exact transmission details to be confirmed in due course.
This marks a shake-up compared to previous episodes, which dropped on iPlayer and Disney+, where available, at 8am.
Written by showrunner Russell T Davies and directed by Alex Sanjiv Pillai, the season finale 'The Reality War' was previously teased as "an amazing ride" for viewers.

In the extra-special-length finale, the Doctor is set to face one of "his most terrifying and monumental battles to date" in an attempt to get Belinda home.
"The Doctor is doomed, Belinda is lost, Ruby is trapped, UNIT is powerless, the Unholy Trinity rule supreme and the Underverse is rising," Davies said of the final episode.
"And now we can all experience this devastating climax together, all at the same time, with a unique worldwide premiere. I can promise shocks, scares and revelations off the scale. Come and have fun!"

As announced last month, the penultimate ('Wish World') and final episodes of this season are also set to screen in cinemas following their TV debut, with BBC Studios partnering with CinemaLive.
"Following the success of last year's midnight cinema event, we're excited to be working with BBC Studios to ensure that this time round Doctor Who fans of all ages are able to share in the epic experience of watching the two-part season finale on the big screen," John Travers, head of acquisitions and distribution for CinemaLive, said of the cinema event.
