EASTENDERS' LINDA MAKES A DEVASTATING DISCOVERY ABOUT JANINE AND MICK

Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) has had more than enough upheaval and tragedy in her life this year but the hits just keep on coming, with the EastEnders legend having received yet another devastating blow.

The Queen Vic landlady was informed by mum Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) that Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks), who is serving a five year stretch in prison, has given birth to Mick Carter’s (Danny Dyer) baby.

Mick has another son.

The discovery knocked her for six, proving to be the latest in a long list of hardships she’s had to endure over the past year.

Linda, as viewers know, was traumatised by Janine, who schemed and manipulated her way into Mick’s heart, all the while destroying her life in the process in a bid to keep her away from her soulmate.

The schemer’s lies and deceit were exposed at Christmas, with Mick horrified to find out that his new wife, who was pregnant with his child, had put Linda through hell, but the ensuing crash led to the Carter patriarch disappearing at sea, leaving Linda to live a life without her one true love by her side.

Despite everything, Linda has managed to carry on like the warrior that she is, having gone into business with mum Elaine, who brought along her new lover George Knight (Colin Salmon), in addition to his two daughters Anna (Molly Rainford) and Gina (Francesca Henry).

Linda reckons George is hiding something and has become determined to prove it, with George doing everything he can to throw her off the scent, including showing her the contents of his safe, which contained love letters from former wife Rose, who mysteriously disappeared nine years ago.

Linda decided to give George the benefit of the doubt after he proved kind to her in the wake of her news, agreeing to let him have the opportunity to prove that he can be trusted.

Though viewers were inevitably left with some doubts about his real reasons for being in the Square.

EastEnders continues Monday June 12 at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
