There's an unexpected EastEnders romance on the way, and one star of the BBC soap is all for it.
Spoilers have revealed that Vicki Fowler kisses Zack Hudson next week amid her spiralling over events with teen Joel Marshall. Now, actress Alice Haig has confessed she thinks they could be a good pairing.
Weeks ago, Vicki was rushed to hospital after she was brutally attacked by her teen stepson Joel. When she gets some news next week about his plea, she's in turmoil amid her split from his father Ross Marshall.
Joel decides to plead not guilty, refusing to face up to his sickening crimes and it leaves Vicki devastated. Alice explained: "It has a huge impact because if Joel had pleaded guilty, she would have been able to put the incident in the past.

"Even though she would still be suffering with trauma, at least she wouldn’t have to relive what happened all over again in court. But with Joel pleading not guilty, there now must be a trial and for Vicki, the thought of having to stand up in court, in front of Joel, and go through it again is terrifying and it’s sent her into a spin."
As she struggles, she ends up clashing with newcomer Damon and things take a dark turn. Alice shared: "Vicki notices Damon very quickly and from her perspective, he’s all over Chelsea and seems untrustworthy.
"So, when she later hears him on the phone and gets what she believes is confirmation that she’s right about him, she snaps. The trouble is that Vicki has had quite a bit to drink, and she lets him know what she thinks of him in a very public way. So, she embarrasses everyone, including herself.
"When Vicki leaves The Vic, she sees Damon in the launderette and she can’t resist going in for round two. Damon is very intimidating and quite aggressive with her, verbally not physically, but Vicki is not in the right place to deal with it.
"So she ends up pushing him and the situation gets very serious." It's Zack to the rescue though, and one thing leads to another in an unexpected moment of passion.
Alice said: "Zack turning up at the right moment and helping Vicki is a massive thing for her. The heart of the problem for Vicki at the moment is that she feels let down by Ross and believes he had many opportunities to stand up for her and make sure she was safe.
"To have somebody fighting her corner, caring for her and looking out for her is quite a powerful thing. Vicki isn’t one to be vulnerable and she doesn’t want to feel like she does so it takes a lot for her to confide in Zack.
"But Zack is being such a good support to her in that moment, he’s listening, understanding and caring. That makes it easier for her to share how she’s feeling." She went on: "After a long night, Vicky is feeling stronger, and Zack gives her a hug.
"It’s a cathartic moment where they feel like they’ve dealt with something big and they have a laugh about something and it develops into an intense moment of passion. They don’t expect to end up kissing and they certainly don’t expect Kathy to walk in and catch them!"
On her reaction, Alice wasn't entirely against Vicki and Zack getting together despite them both being a sibling of Sharon Watts. Alice said: "Vicki insists to Kathy that this is just a moment of madness, and it will never happen again but who knows? I think it'd be brilliant because Zack and Ross have such different energies and characters, but they're also both really great men. I can completely understand why Vicky might be torn between them!"
