GREY’S ANATOMY STAR'S ACTION-PACKED CRIME SHOW IS NOW STREAMING IN THE UK

Countdown, the action-packed series featuring Grey's Anatomy star Eric Dane, is now available to stream in the UK.

The crime drama follows LAPD detective Mark Meachum (Jensen Ackles) as he is recruited to a special task force following the murder of an officer from the Department of Homeland Security.

When the investigation gathers pace, Mark soon uncovers a plot "far more sinister than anyone could have imagined". In addition to the hunt for the killer, a race against time ensues as millions of lives are placed in danger.

The first three episodes of the 13-part crime drama, which co-stars Jessica Camacho, are now available to stream on Prime Video in the UK and Ireland.

The remaining 10 instalments of Countdown will be released weekly on Wednesdays on the streaming service, with the season finale of Derek Haas's series set to air on 3 September.

Following the release of the first three parts, Countdown has earned a mixed response from critics and it currently possesses an approval rating of 50% on Rotten Tomatoes from eight reviews.

"Countdown isn't quite original enough in its premise to completely feel like a breath of fresh air. Still, it capably makes use of compelling characters, strong performers, and an evolving situation with dangerous implications," wrote Collider.

TVLine was similarly positive as they deemed the series "undeniably effective" for its delivery of "fireworks", while CBR wrote that the series "expertly balances viewer expectations and fresh, surprising storytelling".

But Why Tho? described the series as an "intriguing crime drama" that valued "storytelling", though TheWrap was less enthused, writing: "It’s bad at being suspenseful, it’s bad at providing emotional investment and it’s bad at being memorable."

"Countdown is fine, entertaining even, sometimes. However, it's just so predictable that you might find yourself zoning out," wrote LeisureByte, while The Daily Beast dubbed it "clunky, simplistic, unbelievable, and inert".
