The Royal Variety Performance is an annual charity event in the form of a live variety show featuring the best of British acts.
It is held at a theatre in London — this year the Royal Albert Hall — and features a range of live acts performing comedy, music, dance, and magic.
This year's event promises a line-up of “international stars, world-class theatre, sensational singers and hilarious comedy" in the presence of members of the Royal Family.
The show is later televised and in 2022 was watched by more than 152 million TV viewers worldwide. This makes it the most successful and longest-running entertainment show in the world.
The event is staged in aid of the Royal Variety Charity. All funds raised from the show help people from the world of entertainment in need of care and assistance.
The event is taking place on Thursday, November 30.
But it will not be broadcast live on TV. As in previous years, it will be shown on ITV in a few weeks.
