Viewers on Channel 5 are in for a treat as the first episode of Murder Before Evensong is set to premiere on Tuesday night, boasting an impressive cast.
The six-part murder mystery series is based on the novel by I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! favourite Reverend Richard Coles, marking the first book in his popular Canon Clement Mysteries series.
Audiences will be transported back to 1980s England, where protagonist Canon Daniel Clement finds himself embroiled in a murder investigation in a charming village.
The series synopsis reveals: "Canon Daniel Clement shares Champton rectory with his widowed mother - opinionated, fearless, ever-so-slightly annoying Audrey - and his two dachshunds, Cosmo and Hilda.
"When Daniel announces a plan to install a lavatory in the church, the parish is suddenly (and unexpectedly) divided: as lines are drawn, long-buried secrets come dangerously close to destroying the apparent calm of the village.

"And then a body is found dead at the back of the church, stabbed in the neck with a pair of secateurs. As the police move in and the bodies start piling up, Daniel is the only one who can try and keep his fractured community together... and catch a killer."
With a star-studded cast including Matthew Lewis, Amanda Redman, Amit Shah and Adam James, the series promises to keep viewers hooked with its unexpected twists and turns, reports the Mirror.
While the series is set in the fictional village of Champton, many scenes were filmed across the West Midlands.
Filming took place across several locations including Bridgnorth and Worfield in Shropshire, as well as Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Leamington Spa and Wolverhampton.
Yet author Richard Coles remains tight-lipped about the true inspiration behind the fictional Champton.
He said: "I don't want to say where Champton is inspired by, but Bernard's house is based on two houses.
"It's half-based on Althorp, where the Spencers live, which was near to where I was in Northamptonshire, and it's half-based on another house, which I was very excited about.
"This house is ancient and the same family have lived there since the Norman conquest; it's never been let, sold, or open to the public, and you can't see it from any road.
"Then they only bl**dy used it for Saltburn! So that ruled out using Drayton House in Northamptonshire."
Murder Before Evensong is available to watch on Channel 5 from 9pm on October 7.
