PALOMA FAITH GIVES UPDATE HOURS BEFORE GLASTONBURY SLOT AFTER FEARS OF CANCELLATION

Paloma Faith has given fans an update on her health having previously feared she would miss her Glastonbury slot on Sunday after cancelling her concert on Friday.

The hitmaker, 42, is due to be performing on the Glastonbury Pyramid Stage on Sunday from 13:45 to 14:45, before Shania Twain takes the stage for her Legends slot.

However, she was taken ill just 48 hours before her set at Worthy Farm, and forced to cancel a gig on Friday in Southhampton.

She told fans she was ‘incredibly upset and disappointed’, and wrote on Instagram: ‘After suffering from exhaustion and catching various illnesses from my kids, my voice has been severely affected and my range is compromised.’

However, on Sunday morning, the Stone Cold Sober singer told her hundreds of thousands of followers that the show will be going on.

She shared an update with a picture of members of her team in a car seemingly on their way to Worthy Farm, with the caption: ‘My gorgeous team hyped about the fact my sore throat has improved and will sing today!’

Fans will be breathing a sigh of relief for the singer, who will be following Seasick Steve on Glasto’s biggest stage on Sunday afternoon.

There was still concern on Saturday that she wouldn’t make it on Sunday, as Paloma shared an update reflecting on her Glastonbury performance in 2015, sharing a clip and writing: ‘Reflecting on a fashion mistake last time at glasto..

‘Hope I get to put it right on Sunday now I’m in my hot girl era (praying for good health).’

On Friday, after seeking advice from medical professionals the Only Love Can Hurt Like This hitmaker said she was put on vocal rest.

She extended her apologies to everyone who had bought tickets and added she was ‘gutted’ she won’t be dancing with them.

Fan quickly took to the comments to wish her well.

@meganfryer said: ‘So looking forward to see you back at Glasto tomorrow, hope you’re feeling better.’

‘Still so pretty!! Hope your ok for tomorrow,’ @paloma_faith_no.1fan added.

The singer was announced as part of the Glastonbury line-up including ColdplaySza, and Dua Lipa earlier this year.

Amid backlash towards the festival’s diversity, having previously been criticised for having predominantly white, male artists headlining including Sir Elton JohnArctic Monkeys, and Guns ‘n’ Roses, Paloma has said she thinks this year’s set-list may be a ‘knee-jerk reaction’.

She admitted that while she’s honoured to be part of the festival, she is concerned that the inclusion of more women artists and acts of all races isn’t an indicator of real change.

The Can’t Rely on You and How You Leave a Man singer told Radio Times: ‘What tends to happen is they’ll diversify and include non-white races and women again, and everyone says, “Isn’t it great? We’re progressing” – and then it goes back to white men again for years.’

‘I’ll believe it when I see it,’ she added.
