STRICTLY'S VICKY PATTISON ISSUES HEALTH UPDATE AFTER BEING FORCED TO PULL OUT OF SHOW

Vicky Pattison has shared with Strictly Come Dancing enthusiasts that the "wheels have come off" while providing an update on her progress after being hit by illness. The reality television personality and host has demonstrated impressive promise in the contest so far as she partners with professional dancer Kai Widdrington.

During Saturday evening's (October 4) second live broadcast of the programme's 23rd series, Vicky was witnessed honouring her cherished hometown in the north east whilst performing to Rein Me In by fellow Newcastle-born artist Sam Fender.

Vicky and Kai achieved a highly commendable 24 out of a potential 40 points for their routine, leading judge Anton Du Beke to comment: "Dearly departed Len (Goodman) would've loved that heel turn."

Meanwhile, head judge Shirley Ballas opened by informing Vicky that there were 'shades' of excellent technique in the performance, before addressing Kai and suggesting the professional that Vicky could 'possibly, maybe' reach the finale, reports the Manchester Evening News.

It was subsequently announced during the series' inaugural results programme on Sunday (October 5) that the duo had successfully progressed to week three of Strictly's 2025 series, which coincidentally marks the show's traditional Movie Week extravaganza.

However, at the beginning of this week, Vicky disclosed that she and Kai were fighting illness whilst preparing for their upcoming performance, which has now been unveiled as a Charleston to A Little Party Never Killed Nobody from The Great Gatsby.

The duo were meant to feature on It Takes Two on Monday (October 6), but Vicky revealed on Instagram just hours before broadcast that she and Kai wouldn't be appearing as expected.

Sharing to her Instagram story, Vicky posted a snap of various cold and flu treatments, including throat lozenges, ginger shots and all-in-one tablets.

She penned: "Man or should I say 'men' down. Huge apologies to anyone expecting to see my and Kai on It Takes Two tonight... Doing all we can to get back to our best and back to the training room asap."

Then on Tuesday (October 7), Vicky provided a further update. Uploading a selfie to her Instagram Story, the former I'm A Celebrity champion admitted: "The wheels have come off today lads... I'm not 100%, Charleston is kicking me in the d*** and my work outside of Strictly is somewhat overwhelming me this week... CHRIST I AM A WHINGE [crying laughing face and face palm emojis]."

Vicky was subsequently spotted receiving an IV drip, as she confessed: "I've not been feeling 110% the last couple of days... There's so much going round and I clearly don't have time to be in bed.

"So I got @dripdash.me to pick me up from my podcast studio tonight and take me to my hotel and while they did, they gave me a drop of loads of great vitamins and lovely things to make my little body feel better."
