BACHELOR STAR SPARKS UPROAR AFTER REVEALING SHE LOVES BEING A SUBMISSIVE WIFE

Bachelor star turned Christian influencer Madi Prewett has sparked backlash after revealing she loves being a 'submissive wife' to her husband Grant Troutt.

Prewett, 29, who rose to fame as a contestant on Peter Weber's season of The Bachelor in 2020, was offering marriage advice to a guest on the latest episode of her podcast, Stay True, when she dropped the comment.

'I learned a lot about being a submissive wife, it was a challenge for me at first,' Prewett said. 'Now, it's, like, my favorite thing. I love talking about submission.'

Similarly, her husband, who was also appearing on the podcast, described how the 'man is the leader' in the marriage.

'I think like you're the thermostat of the relationship. Like everything about y'all's relationship is on your leadership,' he said in remarks that preceded his wife's comments. 'And I think it was easy to think it's 50/50 and it is, until it's not... I remember she looked at me one day, she said, 'Grant, me and you are good when you and God are good.'

'And that changed everything where I was like, how our faith is in our marriage, it's on me.

'And so, I just would tell you, man, like Ephesians 5 is that blueprint for marriage where it says, "As Christ loved the church, you love your wife." Bro, that's sacrificing everything.

'And you know that, but for anybody listening, like the man is the leader and it's not a dictatorship, man. It's this covering of "I got you". And I remember she looks at me, she's like, "I follow you as you follow Christ."'

Prewett's comments did not sit well with everyone.

'Yikes,' one wrote.

'May this life never find me,' another posted.

'What in the Handmaid's Tale,' another commented.

Several also mentioned a famous figure on Bachelor Nation who disapproved of Madi - Peter Weber's mother Barbara Weber.

'Barb was right all along,' one posted.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Prewett's representative for comment but did not immediately hear back.

Prewett has been vocal about her strong faith since gaining a platform thanks to her time on The Bachelor.

After her time on The Bachelor - in which she briefly ended up with Weber before splitting up - she eventually started dating Troutt.

After less than a year of dating, Troutt proposed to Prewett in August 2022.

'You were worth the wait,' Prewett wrote in her caption of her social media post announcing their engagement.

They tied the knot in Texas just two months later and now have a baby daughter, Hosanna Rose Troutt, together.
