These Perks often consist of free in-game items, like a starter pack for NHL 24, but occasionally include real-life goodies as well. The Best Games On Xbox Game Pass (September 2024)

Xbox Game Pass is unquestionably worth the subscription fee, but which of the available games are the best use of your hard drive space?

In September, Xbox Game Pass will be adding three strategy games, the first being Age of Mythology: Retold, which launches on the 4th. The real-time strategy game has been developed by World’s Edge and Forgotten Empires and is already receiving generally positive reviews. It will be followed by Train Sim World 5 a couple of weeks later on September 17 and, on the 20th, Frost Punk 2, the highly anticipated sequel to 2018’s award-winning city-building survival game set in a post-apocalyptic world.

Age of Mythology: Retold is, as the name implies, a remaster of the original game developed by Ensemble Studios and released in 2002. It uses the same game engine as Age of Empires 3: Definitive Edition, called Bang Bang, and, as such, sports updated visuals and fully revamped animations. In-game models have been completely redone, and even the destruction mechanics of buildings under siege look more realistic, as a burning Granary, for example, will smoke and drop bits of woods before collapsing into rubble.
