Jay Slater’s family have broken their silence after police in the Canary Islands said the disappeared teen was NOT "missing presumed dead". Jay's family have vowed to keep searching in Tenerife until the missing teen is found after cops called off the hunt.
Jay's family continued with the search even after police ended their official hunt. Jay's older brother Zak is with his father Warren continuing to search for the teen this week, while mum Debbie Duncan has also flown out to Tenerife to help.
Cops called off their official search after two weeks but have vowed to continue following up with leads. But in an update on Tuesday night (July 9), cops said Jay - an apprentice bricklayer from Lancashire - was NOT "missing presumed dead".

Jay's uncle Glen Duncan, 41, has described the family's situation as "just desperate - despair". He told Sky News: "So far we've just been in touch with the British consulate out here who have been saying it's still a live investigation, we have just got to sit tight.
"It's just adding to the despair really." Jay vanished into thin air on June 17 whilst on holiday in Tenerife with his pals Lucy Mae Law and Brad Hargreaves and the trio had attended the NRG music festival before going back to an Airbnb in the town of Masca with two "new friends".
A spokesman for the local police force told The Sun: "The investigation is ongoing and several lines of inquiry are being pursued." A source close to the probe went further and said they were still hopeful of finding the teenager alive.
They insisted that the investigation had not yet classed Jay as "missing feared dead" in a major update on Tuesday - which came three weeks on from Jay vanishing after the night out.
