The countdown is on ahead of a huge Greater Manchester food and drink festival. New for 2025, 'A Taste of Altrincham', will see the Trafford town celebrate its vibrant food and drink scene over the course of ten days.
Organised by Altrincham BID, the event will run from Friday, 28 February until Sunday, 9 March. It will feature culinary classes and workshops, supper clubs and chef demonstrations, plus attendees will be able to make the most of a range of food and drink vouchers.
Food lovers are in for a treat, with an exciting line-up of hands-on masterclasses, tasting events, and interactive experiences. The full event programme will be available for download or to pick-up from Altrincham Library and participating businesses from this week.

Mandy White, Altrincham BID Director, explained, "A Taste of Altrincham is all about celebrating the incredible diversity of the town’s food and drink offerings.
"Whether you’re a foodie looking to explore new flavours or someone simply wanting to enjoy a meal with family or friends, there’s something for everyone.
"We are thrilled to have Myerson Solicitors on board as our headline sponsor, and we are grateful for the support provided by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.”
Amongst the classes taking place, attendees will be the chance to join award-winning baker Aidan Monks from award-winning bakery Lovingly Artisan for a Sourdough Masterclass, while chef Robert Owen Brown from Cheshire Cookery School demonstrate the art of Cooking with Fish & Shellfish.
Also on the bill, sushi enthusiasts can try their hand at rolling the perfect maki with hit restaurant Unagi or shake things up at a Cocktail Making session at Memories Café Bar.
Meanwhile, food and drink experiences as part of the festival include a supper club hosted by Blanchflower; a six-course tasting menu at Aspire Restaurant, Trafford College; and Foodie Films at the Everyman Altrincham.
Over the ten days, attendees can also check out the gin tasting event at Gin Can, and a wine and cheese night at Alibi. For a more hands-on experience, Sew Creative is also inviting people to Sip and Stitch your own iconic Altrincham Shopping Bag.
Families and children are also well catered for, with Cook Stars and Cheshire Cookery School offering fun-filled workshops to inspire the next generation of chefs. Plus. OYEZ Arts will present ‘Creative Kitchen Orchestra,’ an interactive musical experience.
In addition to the exciting line-up of events, visitors can take advantage of exclusive special offers at participating venues, with deals ranging from £5 to £50 on meals and drinks.
Ateendeesas will just need to download vouchers online and take them to their chosen venue, before making a payment directly to the venue when the voucher is redeemed.
The festival will also see the launch of the Ultimate Pudding Competition to find the town's best dessert. Whether inspired by the town’s rich history or lively markets, participants will have the chance to create a pudding that represents the essence of Altrincham.
Adults and under-16s can enter and to submit an entry you will need to send the original recipe along with images of your Altrincham-inspired pudding or cake by email to [email protected] by midnight on Monday, 24 February.
