CHIEFS QB PATRICK MAHOMES IS NOMINATED FOR SPORTSMAN OF THE YEAR AT THE 2024 BET AWARDS
The Kansas City Chiefs continue to add to their honors from the 2023 season. Pro Bowl quarterback Patrick Mahomes will be in the running for another off-season award this summer.
The reigning Super Bowl MVP is a Sportsman of the Year nominee at the 2024 BET Awards this Sunday. The Black Entertainment Television network annually recognizes artists, entertainers, and athletes across multiple categories. Mahomes’ competition in the category includes Jalen Hurts from the Philadelphia Eagles, who won the award last year, Anthony Edwards, Gervonta Davis, Jalen Brunson, Kyrie Irving, Lebron James, and Stephen Curry.
Mahomes has been nominated multiple times for the award but has yet to secure a victory. He will be looking to end his drought, similar to his nomination for next month’s Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.
The BET Awards 2024 will air live on BET on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 7 pm CT. For the third consecutive year, actor Taraji P. Henson will host the event, featuring many top musical performers, including a special tribute to Super Bowl LVIII halftime show performer and music icon Usher.
