A FORGOTTEN DAVID MORRISSEY VAMPIRE MOVIE HAS JUST BEEN ADDED TO NETFLIX

A forgotten David Morrissey vampire movie has just been added to Netflix UK and Ireland.

Dampyr is an Italian supernatural action-horror film (it's in English, though) based on Mauro Boselli and Maurizio Colombo's comic series of the same name.

It follows a man named Harlan Draka who wanders across the Balkan countryside, and discovers a village that's under attack by vampires. He soon learns that he is a dampyr, the child of a human and a vampire, and has access to a range of fantastical powers.

But with the army of dead set to attack, he hasn't got long to try and master them.

The film had a low-key release across 2022 and 2023. It has no critic reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, and the trailer on the official Sony Pictures Entertainment YouTube channel only has 590,000 views.

More recently, The Walking Dead star Morrissey has appeared in the BBC comedy Daddy Issues, alongside Sex Education and The White Lotus season three's Aimee Lou Wood. The duo play a hapless father-daughter combo who have to support each other when things get tough.

The show premiered in August last year, and a few weeks after that it was renewed for a second season. The six-episode new season has already started filming.

"I'm delighted to be doing another series of Daddy Issues," Morrissey said at the time of renewal. "Working with Aimee was a dream, and Danielle [Ward]'s writing is so funny and heartwarming! Can't wait!"

Dampyr is now available to stream on Netflix in the UK and Ireland. It has been available on Netflix US for a while now.
