An “intense” Netflix drama is on the way and it didn’t take long for fans to spot a Harry Potter star in its newly released trailer.
Author Harlan Coben is back with another Netflix adaptation of one of his critically-acclaimed novels and this time around, it’s his 2019 book Run Away that’s in the spotlight.
Simon Greene (played by James Nesbitt) has the perfect family life until his eldest daughter Paige Greene (Ellie de Lange) runs away, leaving the rest of her loved ones devastated.
Six months later, Simon finds Paige is now a homeless drug addict but an argument leads to “shocking violence” and him losing her all over again but can he bring his daughter home?
Netflix released the official trailer for Run Away on Monday, December 1, teasing not only the gripping plot but its impressive cast.
The trailer begins with Simon and the rest of his family happily accompanying his daughter Paige on her first day at university.
But it isn’t long before it switches to another clip with Paige screaming at her parents and running off, and when Simon next sees her, she’s busking with bruises on her face.
It also teases the murder of Paige’s boyfriend Aaron Corval but who could have been responsible for his violent death?
The trailer then ends with Simon sighing: “I just need to find her and bring her home.”
Starring as Simon Greene is none other than Cold Feet and Bloodlands star James Nesbitt, alongside Gavin and Stacey’s Ruth Jones as private investigator Elena Ravenscroft.
But it was the brief introduction of Detective Isaac Fagbenle which has really caught fans’ attention as he is portrayed by Alfred Encoh.
Enoch is best known for playing Dean in the Harry Potter franchise, as well as Wes Gibbins in the legal thriller How To Get Away With Murder.
Taking to YouTube ’s comments section, an excited user wrote: “Alfred Enoch! I'm watching.”
"Is that Wes Gibbins?” another asked, while a third commented: “The kid who played Dean in Harry Potter grew up to be such a good looking guy. A hero type person, tall, dark and handsome.”
Other fans were simply thrilled for the return of another Harlan Coben drama, with someone posting: “Anything done by Harlan Cobin I’m watching! British dramas and mysteries are [fire emoji]."
“New Year, new banger," a fellow viewer said, while another agreed: “Looks amazing! Got chills.”
“Chilling and intense. I need to watch this the second it drops,” one fan admitted, as someone else simply stated: “Harlan Coben? I’m there.”
Run Away premieres on New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1, 2026, on Netflix.
