HOUSE OF THE DRAGON STAR EMMA D'ARCY JOINS ALL-STAR CAST OF TOM CRUISE'S NEW MOVIE

House of the Dragon star Emma D'Arcy has joined the all-star cast of Tom Cruise's new movie.

Coming from Birdman and The Revenant director Alejandro González Iñárritu, the untiled film stars Cruise, John Goodman, Jesse Plemons, Sandra Hüller, Sophie Wilde, and Michael Stuhlbarg.

Although it doesn't have a title, filming is currently taking place in the UK at Pinewood Studios.

Deadline broke the news of D'Arcy's casting, with the actor stating: "I'm delighted to be working with such extraordinary and exacting artists as Alejandro and Tom.

"They are the masters of their craft, and witnessing them in combination has been a privilege."

We do have some idea of the plot of the film now, as an official synopsis reads: "The most powerful man in the world embarks on a frantic mission to prove he is humanity's savior before the disaster he's unleashed destroys everything."

Whether that power, and the disaster in question, is political/financial, or scientific/supernatural, we don't know yet.

Next month, Cruise will be seen again on the big screen in Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning.

The title seemingly implies that this will be the last outing for Cruise's character Ethan Hunt, but director Christopher McQuarrie stated that you shouldn't look too deep into things until the film comes out.

"When you're watching Mission: Impossible, and watching the team go through these adventures, you're having some sense of what it's like to make a Mission: Impossible movie," he said.

"There's always a plan, the plan always changes, everything goes completely awry, and hopefully everything always turns out alright in the end. But you never really fully understand, or trust where it is you're going, until you get there."

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is released in UK cinemas on May 21 and in US cinemas on May 23.
