Wicked's Cynthia Erivo has landed her next movie role, in an action thriller from the team behind John Wick.
Deadline reports that the Elphaba actor has joined the cast of Karoshi, a legal thriller with a samurai twist. The term karoshi refers to someone dying unexpectedly from being overworked, and the movie will take place in a Japanese take on New York City.
Erivo will star alongside Past Lives and The Recruit star Teo Yoo and 1883's Isabel May, while John Wick director Chad Stahelski will produce through his company 87Eleven Entertainment, alongside studio Lionsgate.
Production is set to begin in June, with Takashi Doscher directing from his own script. Details about characters and plot are being kept under wraps for now.

Looking forward, Erivo will also been in season two of Natasha Lyonne's Poker Face, as well as the second part of Wicked, officially titled Wicked: For Good.
Without going into spoilers for those of you who haven't seen the second half of the stage show, it has been confirmed that For Good will change a scene regarding the character Nessarose, and will remove the characterisation of her "pleading for a disability to be fixed".
Actor Marissa Bode explained that the scene will instead focus on the "magic in general and the magic of the story", without revealing exactly how it will go down.

Meanwhile, Keanu Reeves recently explained that the character John Wick won't be coming back after Chapter 4, stating: "You know, the character's dead. He died in John Wick: Chapter 4.
"I know, in Hollywood you can... I know, I know, it's the Hollywood story. Right now, there isn't [any plans]."
The one exception is the spin-off Ballerina, which is coming out in the summer.
