Lizzo paid tribute to Tina Turner by performing a rendition of one of the rock’n ’roll legend’s best-loved songs.
The “Truth Hurts” singer took to the stage in Phoenix, Arizona, to give a raucous performance of Turner’s 1971 cover, “Proud Mary.”
Lizzo was emotional as she told the crowd at the Footprint Center what Turner meant to her.
“As a Black girl with a rock band, I wouldn’t exist if there was not the queen of rock n’ roll,” she said.
