OPERA STAR SIR WILLARD WHITE TO PERFORM IN HAMPSHIRE

Opera star Sir Willard White is set to perform at Theatre Royal Winchester.

The event will take place on Saturday, May 24, and will be a night of reminiscing and music.

Over the course of his career, Sir Willard White has become renowned as one of the most versatile opera singers of the last 40 years.

He will talk about his life on stage and screen and perform songs that hold personal significance to him.

His setlist will include music from Nat King Cole, who he listened to in his youth in Jamaica, and pieces from Gershwin's folk opera Porgy and Bess.

Opera legend Sir Willard White to perform and reflect at Theatre Royal Winchester (Image: Supplied) The bass-baritone singer will also sing songs that were made famous by Paul Robeson in the 1920s and 30s.

Sir Willard White has performed in opera houses and concert halls around the world.

He will be joined on stage by the Kymaera guitar duo, Shane Hill and Simon James, who have been performing together for more than 20 years.

The event will start at 7.30pm.
