ARE MAFS UK'S JOHN AND ABI STILL TOGETHER? 3 THINGS THEY'VE BEEN UP TO SINCE THE SHOW

Married At First Sight UK is over for another year, and it's taking all our effort not to cry into our hot chocolate over it. Luckily, Married At First Sight Australia is already underway down under, so it won't be long before it returns to screens here, and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! is also just days away. Before we know it, our evening TV time will be restored, which is exactly what we need on these cold winter nights.

Until then, we're taking a look at the couples from this season of MAFS UK, digging into who is still coupled up, who has gone their separate ways, and who is in a new relationship entirely. One couple in particular that fans will be hoping are very much still together is John and Abigail, who had quite the fairytale romance...

Are MAFS UK's John and Abi still together?

Perhaps unsurprisingly, John and Abi are still a pair – proving that maybe, just maybe, true love really does exist. At their final vows, John and Abi both firmly recommitted to each other, which was a true testament to their hiccup-free time on the show, from their honeymoon to their home stays.

"We stand connected through the journey of a lifetime with the ultimate reward... love," Abi told John in the 11 November episode. "You are my present and my future, but most importantly, you are the love of my life."

"For years and years, I thought I wasn't good enough to be loved," replied John. "But since the moment we stood together on our wedding day, I knew, in such a short time, we've created something I'm so proud of. This is only the beginning."

"I feel amazing. This is the perfect way to end the first chapter of our journey," he went on, as Abi agreed with: "I came into this experiment wanting to find love. I found John, a husband and our happily-ever-after." Awwwh!

Taking to Instagram after the final vows episode aired, Abi reaffirmed what we'd just seen. "The I became we, the future became us, and my heart became yours," she wrote in the caption alongside a photo of her and John sharing a snog. "Love only comes once in a lifetime, and for my entire life I have been waiting for it and, little did I know... for you."

Abi continued: "This is the start of our love story with many more chapters to write, leading into the most beautiful story of all, a life with you." Over on his own Instagram, John shared a similar post. "Was there ever any doubt that we would say YES at final vows?" he asked fans, adding in another post: "I'd walk through every one of those awful, lonely, single years again if they led me back to you."

Filming for final vows concluded in April/May this year, so Abi and John's posts confirm that several months on, they are still together well beyond the show's end.

They've been all over each other's socials

Although MAFS UK contestants are supposed to avoid sharing any spoilers while the show is still airing, John and Abi made no secret online that they are still in love, constantly referring to each other in the present tense and celebrating how they'd finally found their forever person.

As the show was still screening on TV, Abi posted a photo of John to her Story, telling viewers: "Finally found what I have been searching my whole life for."

"Who knew the real experiment was finding your soulmate?" she wrote in a grid post, while in another in-feed post, she said: "I'm in love! I've never been in love before, but meeting John changed everything. From the moment we met, I knew there was something different, something real."

They're planning a family together

After the final vows, viewers were also treated to a reunion dinner party and one last commitment ceremony. During this final episode, John and Abi sat down with the experts and revealed they're making big plans for the future, which include moving in together and starting a family.

The official MAFS UK Instagram account shared a grid post of the sweet reveal, and Abi shared this to her own Story too – confirming that she and John are still intending to follow through on their plans even after the season has wrapped. Similarly, John posted a Story with a collage of loved-up couple photos, overlaying the iconic track: Ain't No Stopping Us Now.

They're encouraging sign-ups for next season

With their own love proving to be a picture-perfect example of just how well MAFS can work, John and Abi have been encouraging viewers to sign up for the next season. Joining up with the casting team, they appeared in a video on Instagram urging people to sign up for the next season. "Next year, this could be you. Apply now," the caption read.

"This show completely changed my life," Abi said in the video. "Just go with your gut and apply, you've got nothing to lose. If anything, you've got everything to gain as you could end up finding the person you've been waiting for your whole life."

"So glad you made it work," a fan said in response, as another echoed this, writing: "You make such a lovely couple, enjoy every moment."
