BBC THE TRAITORS STAR ISSUES SAFETY PLEA AFTER 'DISGUSTINGLY INVASIVE' FANS

Eliminated The Traitors star Ross has spoken out about his security concerns after certain viewers have become "disgustingly invasive".

The Faithful sparked doubt around the roundtable following an unexpected bond with Netty, before ultimately being voted off Claudia Winkleman's backstabbing reality show.

Shortly afterwards, it emerged that Ross had indeed been secretly involved with fellow contestant Ellie, despite their successful efforts to conceal the romance.

Yet online detectives wasted no time uncovering their relationship, unearthing proof across various social platforms.

Ross has now tackled the scrutiny he and Ellie have faced, highlighting how deeply supporters have probed into his private affairs, reports Wales Online.

The fitness instructor confessed: "People have been disgustingly invasive."

Speaking to Metro, he elaborated: "I don't mind people [talking about] stuff in the past, like, we've been to this leisure centre or this thing, but they were literally quoting the gym we go to which is quite close to us.

"I'm like, that's too much. Obviously I can understand people wanting to know stuff out of curiosity, but it's like doxxing someone. Don't risk my safety. That's something I had a bit of a thing with."

He added: "We already know people are mad out there, so with the information stuff, it felt invasive. I didn't mind the stuff that's publicly out there all in the past, the current stuff.

"[But] we all get really weird messages as it is. The way people could actually follow up with it, I find that dangerous and a bit not human."

After his eviction, Ross admitted to the BBC that keeping his relationship with Ellie under wraps was surprisingly easy: "Hiding the relationship with Ellie was the easiest thing ever. Any time we had an interaction, I was happy to see her because I was under pressure the whole time, so Ellie was my safe space in the game.

"However, I thought she was a Traitor, because every time we had a moment together, she would not speak to me. I'm very proud of her though and I'm glad she's still in there holding it down for the household."

Describing his departure as "bittersweet", he reflected: "I thought to myself, 'would you rather stay in longer and be in the background, or would you rather burn bright and go out in a blaze of glory?' and I genuinely feel like I did. I'm really happy with myself; I don't think I could have done any better."

Ross, now rooting for Ellie from the sidelines, expressed his hopes for her victory: "I am Ellie's biggest fan boy, so yes, I hope she goes on to win. She has all my support in the world, and she has the potential to go all the way. I just also hope she does something to redeem me - I don't want my death to be in vain."

The Traitors continues tonight at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
