If you're looking for a cosy, heartwarming watch this festive season, a new movie has landed on Prime Video that will please lovers of romance, comedy and dogs.
Starring Charlie Cox and Zooey Deschanel, Merv landed on Prime Video today where it is available to stream worldwide. The streaming service is currently offering a 30-day free trial for new members that will take you right into the new year.
The rom-com sees the Daredevil and New Girl stars play Anna and Russ, a former couple who learn that Merv, the dog they're still co-parenting, has depression.
In an effort to get Merv wagging his tail again, Russ takes him on a trip to Florida, only to have the vacation gatecrashed by Anna, forcing the two to spend time together again.
And did we mention that it's set during Christmas?!

Merv was written by husband and wife duo Linsey Stewart and Dane Clark, with Summerland's Jessica Swale directing.
In their review, MovieWeb wrote that "Merv could have easily descended into the sappy dreck of a Hallmark movie, but the talented cast and crew avoid that fate," while hinting to a "surprising twist that reframes the narrative at just the right time".
Collider recommend the rom-com as family-friendly festive viewing, adding that: "Its lovable cast and the incredibly cute title character carry it across the finish line."
Of course most of us are used to watching Deschanel on our screens every holiday season thanks to her starring role alongside Will Ferrell in the beloved Christmas film Elf.

In a recent interview with E! News, Deschanel revealed that her two children Elsie, 10, and Charlie, 8, haven't actually seen the Christmas classic yet.
"They've seen part of it but they weren't really that into watching it," the actor said.
Explaining why her kids might not have been as enthusiastic as the rest of us about the movie, Deschanel added: "I think it was a little weird."
Merv is available to stream worldwide now on Prime Video.
