Actors you didn't realize may never act again

From Bruce Willis to Daniel Day-Lewis, many actors have made the decision to step away from their trade, whether for health reasons or due to a sense of satisfaction with what they've achieved. Steve Martin has had a distinguished career spanning several decades and is experiencing renewed success as one of the stars of the hit series 'Only Murders in the Building.' However, he's considering hanging up his hat for good after this role. "When this television show is done, I’m not going to seek others. I’m not going to seek other movies. I don’t want to do cameos," he told the Hollywood Reporter. "This is, weirdly, it." This isn't the first time Martin has made moves towards retirement. “My wife keeps saying, ‘You always say you’re going to retire and then you always come up with something,’” he revealed. While he feels ready to take a step back, the entertainment industry might not allow him to slip away! New projects and ideas keep popping up to delay his departure. His close friend Lorne Michaels had this to say: “He’s kind of at another career peak, of which he’s had way too many. It’s just never an accident when people are still standing — and right at the front.” While some actors went out with a bang and made a big retirement announcement, others slipped away quietly. Whatever the case, check out this gallery to discover some actors you didn't realize may never act again.

The best duets in music history

Some of music's most iconic songs have been created by pairing up sensational singers. Indeed, teaming great talent to sing as one voice is what makes a duet so appealing... and often quite intriguing. In a groundbreaking collaboration, Beyoncé created a remix of her 'Renaissance' hit single 'BREAK MY SOUL' with the one and only, Madonna. Titled 'BREAK MY SOUL (THE QUEENS REMIX),' the song samples Madonna's iconic 1990 hit 'Vogue.' Madonna shared a photo of the flowers Beyoncé sent to her along with the thank you note, which read, "I'm so grateful for you. You have opened so many doors for so many women. You are a masterpiece genius. Thank you for allowing me to sing in your song and thank you for naming the remix." The Queen of Pop responded with the caption "Thank you!! From one [queen] to another. I love the re-mix!" Click through and take a look (and a listen) to more terrific twosomes.

Stars who have been involved in ugly custody battles

The end of a relationship is never easy, and it's even worse when there are children involved. For personalities in the public spotlight, the situation can be especially difficult, and when celebrities divorce it often ends in a court battle over the children. Some cases go on for years. Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis were together for 10 years before what appeared to be a rather sudden split in 2020. The two share a son, Otis, and a daughter, Daisy, and have reportedly been working out their co-parenting arrangement ever since. In 2021, Sudeikis brought a case against Wilde over where their children would live. Wilde is based in California, while Sudeikis was living in the UK filming 'Ted Lasso' at the time. However, he declared his desire to live in New York and make the state the primary residence for his children. The judge dismissed Sudeikis's petition and determined that the children's home state is California. This is the first win for Wilde in what may become a messy legal battle. She filed a petition to “determine parental relationship in Superior Court of California, in LA,” in May, and it's likely that the custody case will continue there. Things already got ugly in April when Wilde was served with custody papers while giving a presentation live on stage at CinemaCon. Court documents obtained by the Daily Mail reveal that Wilde accused Sudeikis of acting with malice by choosing to serve her in such a public and embarrassing way. "Jason's actions were clearly intended to threaten me and catch me off guard," Wilde reportedly says in the documents. "He could have served me discreetly, but instead he chose to serve me in the most aggressive manner possible." Check out the gallery and see the celebrities who have already battled it out in court for custody of their children.

Johannes Brahms: Complete Symphonies review – constantly fascinating performances

Though these days we generally hear the Brahms symphonies performed by a full-sized symphony orchestra of 70 or 80 players, the composer himself is said to have preferred smaller forces. The orchestra in Karlsruhe, which introduced his First Symphony, had 49 players, the Meiningen Court Orchestra, responsible for the premiere of the Fourth, numbered 48. Thomas Dausgaard recorded the four symphonies with a band of that size for BIS, and now Adam...

The phrase "let sleeping dogs lie" is extremely appropriate here! Click through this gallery to see some of the most awful, disappointing, and laughable sequels ever made.
