NEAR-PERFECT "DARKLY COMIC" THRILLER WITH 'TWISTS TO KEEP YOU GLUED' LANDS NEW UK STREAMING HOME

The Flight Attendant, the near-perfectly-rated thriller starring Kaley Cuoco, has landed a new streaming home in the UK. Described as "darkly comic" with "twists [that] will keep you glued", this is one to check out!

The series, which is based on Chris Bohjalian's 2018 novel of the same name, sees The Big Bang Theory star portray Cassie Bowden, a self-destructive flight attendant with a dependency on alcohol.

After embarking on a one-night stand with a passenger from a flight, Cassie is horrified to find his dead body the following morning. With the evidence stacked against her, she attempts to clear her name.

After premiering in 2020, the series returned two years with its follow-up on HBO Max and Sky, but it now has a new streaming home in the UK after all 16 instalments were added to ITVX.

Featuring Zosia Mamet and Colin Woodell in supporting roles, The Flight Attendant was positively received by critics throughout its run, with the first season boasting a near-perfect approval rating of 97% from 72 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

"The story is intriguing if you don’t think about it too much; the way it is told will sweep you along and the twists will keep you glued," wrote Brioux TV, while the Chicago Sun-Times called it "wickedly funny".

"Prestige TV has started taking itself ponderously seriously, but The Flight Attendant does precisely the opposite and is all the more enjoyable for it. Expertly teetering between black comedy and pulpy thriller, this is a hell of a ride," wrote London Evening Standard.

"Writer/producer [Steve] Yockey gives Cassie enough history to make her feel real, even when she's living through goofy, surreal circumstances. Plus, Cuoco nails every beat of the genre-shifting script," opined IndieWire.

The second season also received positive reviews as it accrued an approval rating of 86%, with The Hollywood Reporter writing: "It’s still a delicious mix of pulse-pounding thrills, razor-sharp comedy and surprisingly meaty psychological drama."

Despite its acclaim from critics, it doesn't look like the thriller will be coming back in the future, with Cuoco stating in January 2024 that there were no plans to proceed with a third season.

The Flight Attendant is streaming on ITVX.
