BBC'S "BELOVED" PERIOD DRAMA ADAPTATION SHARES EXCITING NEW-SEASON ANNOUNCEMENT

Malory Towers is welcoming two new additions to the cast for the new season 6.

The BBC period drama inspired by the book series of the same name by Enid Blyton has added model Ellie Goldstein and Ciara Prioux to its ensemble.

Goldstein will be making her acting debut as Nancy, described as "a spirited new arrival at the school" who will be making a grand entrance together with a past character.

The star's first episode as Nancy will become available on BBC iPlayer on Monday, 30 June and will then air on CBBC on Tuesday, 1 July.

"I am so honoured to have been a part of the fantastic series Malory Towers," Goldstein said in a statement.

"I'm beyond excited to see my episodes and share them with everyone. I absolutely love acting and feel so lucky to have worked with such a wonderful cast and crew."

Prioux will be playing new student Celeste, a French young woman who joins the school after her mother falls ill.

"Malory Towers continues to be a cherished part of our children's programming, offering timeless stories of friendship, resilience and adventure," executive producer for BBC Children's Anita Burgess said of the new season.

"It's a joy to see how each new season brings fresh energy while staying true to the spirit of Enid Blyton's beloved books."

The series follows the adventures of protagonist Darrell Rivers (Ella Bright) at an all-girls boarding school in post-war England.

Goldstein's character arrives at Malory Towers with her guardian, the girls' previous much-feared Matron Kathleen (EastEnders' Ashley McGuire). McGuire will return to the series after appearing in a regular capacity in seasons 2, 3 and 4.
