ICONIC AND NOSTALGIC '00S CRIME DRAMA REBOOT CONFIRMS EXCITING ALL-NEW CAST

The upcoming reboot of Prison Break has announced new cast members.

A few years ago, it was confirmed that the iconic 2000s show was getting a revival, which is set in the same universe as the original series but with new characters.

We've now been given a few further details, with the show signing up The Affair's Emily Browning to play a former soldier-turned-corrections officer called Cassidy Collins, who takes a job in one of America's deadliest prisons (via Deadline).

Euphoria's Lukas Gage will portray a politician called Jackson, who is from a privileged background and is running his first congressional campaign, while The Winchesters' Drake Rodger has been cast in the role of an inmate called Tommy, who has been in prison for a decade.

Further plot details remain under wraps for now, though the show was picked up for a pilot at the end of 2024.

It was previously confirmed that original characters Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) and Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) won't be appearing in show, which comes from Mayans MC's Elgin James.

Prison Break originally ran between 2005 and 2009, and was revived for a final season in 2017. Alongside Miller and Purcell, the series starred Amaury Nolasco, Robert Knepper, Robin Tunney, Peter Stormare and Sarah Wayne Callies.

Meanwhile, last year it was confirmed that Miller and Purcell would be teaming up again for a new TV drama called Snatchback, which follows a team that attempts to rescue hostages around the world and is based on the life of a real covert intelligence officer.

The Prison Break reboot is yet to confirm a release date. All five seasons of the original show are streaming now on Netflix.
