NETFLIX FANS RUSHING TO WATCH NEW CRIME THRILLER STARRING HUGE POP STAR OUT TODAY

Now that the weather has turned colder, many people are swapping nights on the town for cosy evenings in front of the television. That means, a lot of Brits are looking for Netflix recommendations, and luckily for you there's is a new crime thriller hitting the streaming service today (October 3).

Those who are fans of crime dramas will certainly want to listen up, as the show, which has been created by Ryan Murphy, follows the story of one of the most notorious serial killers. Monster: The Ed Gein Story will focus on the life of real-life convicted serial killer Ed Gein (played by Charlie Hunnam) in 1950s rural Wisconsin.

Gein, also known as the Butcher of Plainfield and the Plainfield Ghoul, was an American serial killer and body snatcher. Crimes he committed around his hometown of Plainfield, Wisconsin, attracted widespread notoriety in 1957 after authorities discovered he had exhumed corpses from local graveyards and made keepsakes from their bones and skin. He also confessed to killing two women, which were tavern owner Mary Hogan in 1954 and hardware store owner Bernice Worden in 1957.

True crime fans have been excited about the show ever since it was announced, especially when the trailer was dropped last month.

One person wrote on Reddit at the time: "Just watched the trailer for this show and I am stupid excited. I did not have my hopes up for this but if it's half as good as the trailer, I can't wait."

Another added on the thread: "Not a fan of Murphy but big fan of Charlie and I am looking forward to see how he transforms into Gein."

A third chimed in: "This looks incredible, but this is what trailers do I guess. Hopefully it’s good."

Many people are also looking forward to see US social media star and singer Addison Rae as part of the cast.

Rae, 24, will be playing Evelyn Hartley in the show, who was a young Wisconsin woman who disappeared in 1955.

While Gein was considered a suspect due to his proximity to the disappearance and the discovery of other victims, lie detector tests and a subsequent investigation cleared him of any involvement in her case.

One fan exclaimed: "Addison Rae is going to smash that role," while another added: "Give her the Oscar."

Despite most people being excited for the show, others slammed the fact that producers have made Ed Gein 'hot' while others complained there's 'too many shows about serial killers'.
