Netflix has unveiled the gripping trailer for a "brilliant" crime drama that promises to keep viewers on their toes "right up until the very end".
As we approach the New Year, Netflix is whetting our appetites with some thrilling new content to kick off 2026, including Harlan Coben's Run Away, set to premiere on New Year's Day.
The streaming giant has now released the trailer for His and Hers, a six-part crime drama adapted from Alice Feeney's best-selling 2020 novel of the same name.
The teaser begins with a chilling voiceover from journalist Anna, portrayed by Tessa Thompson, who ominously states: "I used to think that when bad things happen that it was just random chaos but bad things happen because you bring them on yourself."
This is swiftly followed by a haunting image of a woman's body sprawled atop a car in a woodland setting.
As police officers secure the crime scene, they are besieged by eager reporters, whom they attempt to dismiss until Anna calls out: "Detective Harper, is it true you knew her?"
It soon transpires that Anna is the ex-wife of DCI Jack Harper, played by Jon Bernthal, and suspicion quickly mounts between the pair as they both become embroiled in the murder investigation.
The trailer concludes with Anna's cryptic words: "There are two sides to every story. Ours and theirs. Yours and mine. His and hers. Which means someone is always lying."
The trailer also reveals that His and Hers will make its grand debut on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
Marvel fans will recognise the leading duo of His and Hers as Asgardian warrior Valkyrie, played by Tessa Thompson, and The Punisher's Jon Bernthal.
Thompson has also starred in Creed, Passing and Hedda, while Bernthal has made his mark in The Walking Dead and The Bear.
One fan, describing the book as a "masterpiece", enthused: "I couldn't put this book down until I have finished it. It was fast-paced, enthralling, thrilling, tense, and satisfying."
Another agreed: "One of the best suspense books I've read in the past few years. Highly recommended, if you think you know then you just don't!"
A third dubbed it "fabulously twisty", with another adding: "It keeps you guessing right to the very end."
Meanwhile, other fans took to YouTube to highlight the drama's Marvel connections.
One excited viewer exclaimed: "Punisher and Valkyrie? I'm all for it" while another noted: "I did not expect a team up between Valkyrie and the Punisher."
Adding a dash of Hollywood glamour behind the scenes is Jessica Chastain, star of The Help and It, who serves as an executive producer.
His and Hers is set to premiere on Netflix on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
