As Claudia Winkleman gets ready to waltz away from to Strictly Come Dancing along with her co-host Tess Daly many names have been bandied about as possible replacements. These include former This Morning and Dancing on Ice presenter Holly Willoughby. But fans are not convinced by this prediction and have thrown another name into the mix. Over on Reddit one viewer suggested the pairing of former contestants Angela Scanlon and Layton Williams to replace Claudia and Tess and Angela was met with universal approval.
"I think Layton wouldn't want to lose three months of the year on stage - it could cost him contracts for shows. Definitely agree with Angela Scanlon - maybe her and Alex Jones? Alex as the new Tess, and Angela as the new Claudia?" one responded. "I like Layton but I don't see it to be honest. I love that he's so extra but I think that he wouldn't fit in as a host. I can see him being "too much" for too many people. Angela on the other hand seems to be like a natural fit for this role," another agreed.

A third chimed in: "Angela Scanlon I agree with, Layton on the other hand is a hard pass...La Voix would be a much better replacement for Claudia."
A fourth opined: "Angela would be fine. Either her or maybe Fleur East from It Takes Two. I definitely think one of the new duo has to be Rylan though. He was brilliant when he did It Takes Two, you can tell how much he loves Strictly and I think he'd do great in Claudia's role."
A fifth shared: "I think Angela Scanlon would be perfect, she seems so much fun!! Not sure about Layton. As long as it's not Holly Willoughby lol. Janette or Fleur would be good as well imo."
Meanwhile a sixth penned: "I LOVEEEEE the choice of Angela. I think they should keep it as two women!!!! Imagine Angela and AJ Odudu?!"
Claudia and Tess confirmed they quit as the hosts of Strictly Come Dancing in a joint statement alongside an Instagram post on October 23.
It read: "We have loved working as a duo and hosting Strictly has been an absolute dream. We were always going to leave together and now feels like the right time.
"We will have the greatest rest of this amazing series and we just want to say an enormous thank you to the BBC and to every single person who works on the show.
"They're the most brilliant team and we'll miss them every day. We will cry when we say the last "keep dancing" but we will continue to say it to each other. Just possibly in tracksuit bottoms at home while holding some pizza."
