"THRILLING" DAVID THEWLIS PERIOD DRAMA WITH A TWIST REVEALS FIRST LOOK AT "ADRENALINE-PUMPING" RETURN
Disney+ has revealed a first look at season two of its 'thrilling' period drama The Artful Dodger. Starring David Thewlis, who returns to the role of Fagin, the "adrenaline-pumping" second season is set to premiere on 10 February on Disney+.
The Australian original series stars Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Jack Dawkins aka The Artful Dodger and Maia Mitchell as Lady Belle Fox.
Co-created by James McNamara and set 15 years after the events of Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist, the show follows a grown up Dodger, who now works as a surgeon and sometime criminal in 1850s Australia.
In season two, Jack's criminal past appears to be catching up with him as he is hunted by Inspector Henry Boxer, who is played by newcomer to the show Luke Bracey.
Teasing an "explosive" new season, the synopsis promises to deliver "more thrills, humour, heart, invention and deception than ever".

It reads: "The Artful Dodger returns, and he’s in deep trouble. He’s got an appointment with the noose, he’s being hunted by Inspector Boxer, Port Victory’s new lawman, and if he sees the woman he loves, Lady Belle, he’ll be hanged.
"Meanwhile, Lady Belle is determined to forge her future in medicine, defying expectation and stepping into danger, driven by ambition and a love already hanging in the balance.
"With Boxer competing with Jack for Belle’s affection, the crafty Fagin drags Dodger into their most dangerous heist yet, and a killer is on the loose."
The newly-released images show the cast reprising their respective roles, while also offering a glimpse at Bracey in his new role.
