Davina McCall has secretly married her fiancé Michael Douglas in a ‘very low-key’ ceremony, it is reported.
The former Big Brother host, 58, has endured a horrific 2025 after undergoing brain surgery last year and recently receiving an early stage breast cancer diagnosis.
However, this year just got brighter for the beloved TV presenter, as she reportedly married Michael, 49, who was by her side through her health year from hell, on Friday in a ‘perfect’ small do.
A source has revealed the couple opted for a small get together on Friday for the nuptials, before attending a friend’s large wedding on Saturday.
‘Their wedding was perfect, exactly what they wanted. They chose a small venue close to their home, and just invited about ten of their friends and relatives to be there with them,’ the friend told The Sun.
‘It was very intimate and everyone who attended is very special in their lives.’
They went on: ‘They’ve been through a huge amount in recent months, with Davina’s health, and it just felt right to formalise their marriage. They didn’t see the point in waiting.’
The next day was said to be ‘life as normal’ for the couple, who made a friend’s wedding their first outing as husband and wife making for the ‘perfect weekend’.
Michael was in Davina’s social media video announcing she was about to undergo brain surgery in November last year, and promised to keep fans updated on her health.
Since, he’s proved a huge pillar of support for the star as she’s recovered from the brutal craniotomy and celebrated when Davina got the all-clear, which all happened after a random health check discovered a 14mm benign tumour.
Having previously said that was the ‘hardest’ time in her life, things only got harder when she got a breast cancer diagnosis following a routine breast check, prompted by Lorraine Kelly’s ITV show.
‘The margins were very small so I got it very, very early, which is incredibly lucky. But I am so relieved to have had it removed and to know that it hasn’t spread,’ she previously said.
‘My lymph nodes were clear and I didn’t have any removed. All I am going to do now is have five days of radiotherapy in January, as kind of an insurance policy, and then I am on my journey to try and stop it ever coming back.’
Michael was Davina’s hair stylist, and their connection grew from there. They announced a romance in 2019, two years after her split from husband Matthew Robertson.
Davina and Michael had been friends for 20 years prior to getting together, and mostly keep quiet about their relationship.
Michael is the founder of hair styling company mdlondon and has been styling hair for more than 35 years.
Davina said: ‘We’ve got an agreement that I don’t talk about our relationship, because our exes and kids don’t have a right to reply, so it’s not fair.’
She also said that keeping private about their relationship helps to keep it ‘magic’.
She said: ‘I give so much of myself to the public that I need something just for me,’ she explained, saying ‘keeping my love life private …. keeps the magic.’
She insisted they’re not ‘purposefully trying to hide away from anyone’ but ‘privacy keeps our relationship special to us.’
‘There’s something lovely about it and that’s all it is. It keeps it really magical and I like that.’
While they keep the details of their private life relatively under wraps, Michael and Davina share a podcast together called Making The Cut, which aims to help people make decisions.
The couple now live together in Kent, with two of Davina’s three children: Holly, 23, and Chester, 18. Her middle daughter, Tilly, 21, moved to Australia in 2023.
