WHAT IS FORTNITE BLITZ ROYALE AVATAR RETURNS? ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW INCLUDING RELEASE DATE

Fortnite shows no signs of slowing down, and now that it's back on mobile (and has a fancy new Nintendo Switch 2 version), the new Blitz Royale mode is kicking into high gear.

Blitz Royale is the latest limited-time mode to hit Fortnite, and runs until July 15. Tailor-made for mobile gaming, these quick-fire matches last about five minutes and keep players on their toes with constant changes.

Epic Games is set to spice things up weekly, with week two featuring an exciting Last Airbender theme for Avatar fans to return to.

Here's everything involved in the updated version of the mode.

Blitz Royale Avatar Returns Explained

The event arrives on June 24 on all platforms, so if you're looking for some quickfire ways to earn your battle pass XP, now's the time.

"Pagodas from the Four Nations appear on the map, and players start with a Bending Scroll from Avatar: The Last Airbender," Epic reveals.

July 1 will then kick off the next phase, dubbed Bad Bosses.

This time around, there will be new versions of boss weapons like the Blitz Chain of Hades, Thorne's Vampiric Blade and more.

Finally, on July 8, the focus will shift to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles event. It'll bring back classic Turtle melee weapons, as well as options like the Typhoon Blade, Megalo Don's Nitro Fists and more.

The mode has been a hit with players so far. There are just 32 players per match, and players start with a Medallion or a unique weapon.

They then level up throughout a game.

"As you level up, get powerful weapons and power-ups," Epic says.

"Loot Golden Chests for even more power-ups and Golden Supply Drops for even more Medallions."

Earn ten account levels or get 20 top 10 finishes in Blitz Royale to get the Blitz Knight Outfit for your collection. Hurry - it's gone after July 15.
