In remembrance of the devastating events at Grenfell Tower on June 14, 2017, Netflix has announced the imminent release of a new documentary titled Grenfell: Uncovered.
The feature film delving into the horrors of the Grenfell Tower blaze includes new interviews and features an exclusive discussion with ex-Prime Minister Theresa May.
May weathered considerable criticism for her handling of the situation, particularly when she failed to meet the public on her visit to the disaster site.
She has openly acknowledged her shortcomings in responding to the tragedy, expressing that she will forever be burdened with regret over her actions. Now, she tells her side of the story in the upcoming Netflix feature about the blaze and the controversy that ensued.
During a recent preview of Grenfell: Uncovered presented to Reach and other media outlets, filmmaker Olaide Sadiq opened up about the interview with May, reports the Express.

Sadiq commented: "With Theresa, there's a lot the government needs to answer for when it comes to Grenfell, and I think she is someone who wanted an opportunity to speak to her actions and the government's actions, but also her own inactions."
She further explained: "I think there was a lot of criticism aimed at her immediately after the fire, and I think she wanted an opportunity to answer those criticisms in a way that felt authentic and real.
"We had a couple of chats before we sat down in the chair and, I think, she was willing to be brave and come to this with [...] a form of transparency I wasn't expecting.
"But it actually wasn't that complicated a conversation," she continued. "I think once we sat down, I think she very much knew what we were doing, what we wanted to do, and [she] wanted to give her voice to that."
The Netflix synopsis for Grenfell: Uncovered states: "The film will forensically connect the long and disturbing chain of events that led to the disastrous Grenfell Tower fire that claimed the lives of 72 people in west London in 2017.
"As well as giving a voice to survivors, bereaved families and firefighters, the documentary will unravel and document a series of events that took place in the years before the fire."
This feature-length documentary is a standalone film, clocking in at 100 minutes. It was directed by Sadiq, with James Rogan, Sandy Smith and Soleta Rogan serving as producers.
The film also delves into the Grenfell Inquiry and subsequent cladding scandal, shedding light on the failures across both the government and private sector leading up to the tragedy.
Over the weekend, a silent walk through the streets of north Kensington was held in memory of the 72 victims of the Grenfell tower fire.
This comes two months ahead of the planned gradual dismantling of the tower, with former residents gathering to bid their homes a final farewell.
Grenfell: Uncovered is coming to Netflix on Friday, June 20.
